Marouane Fellaini in & Kevin De Bruyne’s new role: Belgium’s likely XI vs Brazil

Brazil vs Belgium

There’s a mouth-watering match at the World Cup on Friday night as Brazil take on Belgium in the quarter-finals.

Brazil reached the last eight with a 2-0 win over Mexico in the last round.

Neymar opened the scoring for Brazil after 51 minutes. Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino came off the bench to score a second two minutes from time.

As for Belgium, they were involved in an incredible 5-goal thriller with Japan in the last-16.

Japan raced into a two-goal lead at the start of the second half. Genki Haraguchi opened before Takashi Inui scored a brilliant second.

But then Belgium hit back, starting when Jan Vertonghen found the net with a flukey header.

Second half subs Marouane Fellaini and Nacer Chadli completed the incredible comeback for the Red Devils.

Marouane Fellaini & Kevin De Bruyne’s new role

Ahead of Friday’s match, France Football believe they have the inside track on how Belgium may line up against Brazil.

Man United midfielder Marouane Fellaini is set to start against the South Americans.

Fellaini is set to be brought into the XI to add extra steel next to Axel Witsel.

Napoli’s Dries Mertens could be the fall-guy for Fellaini.

It’s also predicted that Man City’s Kevin De Bruyne will be pushed further upfield by Roberto Martinez.

Many have been calling for the Man City star to use in a more attacking role at the World Cup.

In a final change, West Brom’s Nacer Chadli is also expected to be handed a start down the left-hand side. Chadli would replace Yannick Carasco in the line-up.
