Burnley & Swansea’s Sam Clucas
According to the Sun on Sunday, Burnley are interested in signing Sam Clucas from Swansea.
27-year-old Clucas is under contract with Swansea until 2021.
Last season the flame-haired wide-man played 39 matches for Swansea in all competitions. He scored three goals and chipped in with two assists.
Swansea, of course, were relegated from the Premier League to the Championship. And the Sun believe that “unhappy” Clucas is keen to jump ship:
Burnley aim to push through a £12 million deal for Swansea’s Sam Clucas before the club’s European adventure.
Clucas had an unhappy season at Swansea where he was chopped and changed after joining from Hull.
Swansea have already sold Lukasz Fabianski to West Ham United for seven million pounds this summer.
South Korean international Sung-Yueng Ki has joined Newcastle on a free transfer as well.
There is also plenty of speculation that Alfie Mawson could be on the move before the start of the season.
Aberdeen vs Burnley
Burnley start their 2018-19 season several weeks before most of their Premier League rivals.
Burnley have been drawn against Scottish rivals Aberdeen in their Europa League qualifier.
That match is scheduled for July 26 in Aberdeen, with the return leg at Turf Moor a week later.
The Clarets, who finish last season in seventh place in the Premier League, begin their new season on August 12 away at Southampton.
Cork City – Burnley 1
Burnley beat Ireland’s Cork City on Saturday in a pre-season friendly.
Burnley won 1-0 with a late goal from Irish centre-back Jimmy Dunne.
